| The rural homestays we
have for you
are all in a small settlement of Onaero which has its own secluded
beach. It is about twenty minutes drive away from New Plymouth. We have chosen this place because it is our 'home base' and we know the people very well. |
| This fish, a snapper, was
caught by one of your homestay hosts about a kilometre from his house.
Other fish which are also caught are gurnard, groper, and further
south, blue cod. There is also a plentiful supply of shellfish and you can gather mussels off the rocks at low tide. A little further out to sea are paua (abalone). |
