This museum was established in an old disused dairy factory by an art teacher from the local high school. He has done all the setting up and maintaining himself and is well known through the country as a structural artist. Most people have been to museums, but this one is different. Nigel has also built a bush railway and we try to coincide our visits with a time when it will be running. On the left is a shot of the bush railway...or is it?  Is the man of a common height, or is he a small figure, part of a diorama?

The Pohutukawa is sometimes called the Christmas tree. It flowers in December usually and if it is a good season, many trees will be completely covered by these red flowers. The tree is  found mainly in the North Island and often around the seacoast clinging to rocks.
