This is one of the popular 'sports' in Queenstown. There are several companies operating here with the Shotover river being used extensively. This activity is not for the faint-hearted and it is important that you hold on! Some boats have a heated handrail for you to hold onto. Other sports include paragliding, hanggliding, paraponting, rafting, 4wd safaris hiking, and in winter shiing and snowboarding on the many fields that surround this basin.
