many people marvel at the grandeur of the area.

of most attractively
coloured birds
in the country.

Arrive
in Auckland.Be met by senior travel personnel. Visit some of Auckland's
attractions
including Kelly
Tarlton's Underwater World and
Antarctic exhibit. Overnight
in Auckland |
| Day 2 |
Travel
to Paihia in the Bay of Islands via Whangarei. Overnight
in Bay of Islands |
| Day 3 |
Cruise
to the hole in the rock
and visit the historic town of
Russell and
the
Waitangi treaty grounds. Overnight
in Bay of Islands.

Drive
back to Auckland via the
West Coast stopping at the Waipoua kauri forest and the kauri museum at
Matakohe
Overnight in Auckland. |
| Day 5 |
Travel
to Rotorua via
Hamilton.
Visit the thermal hot pools there.
Overnight in Rotorua. |
| Day 6 |
Visit
the Maori church at Ohinemutu,
then to Whaka village and the Agrodome. In the evening enjoy a
concert and an evening meal ( hangi ). Overnight again in Rotorua

| Day 7 |
Travel
to Taranaki via
Otorohanga and
the
Waitomo and Aranui
caves
and later through the Awakino gorge into North Taranaki
to New Plymouth.
Overnight there. |

Morning
in New
Plymouth visiting Pukekura
Park.
Continue on to
Wanganui via the Tawhiti
museum in Hawera
and travel on south toWellington.
Overnight in the capital.

In
the
morning, visit the National Museum.(Te Papa) and in the afternoon
take the
interisland
ferry to
Picton at
the head of
the Marlborough
Sounds.
Overnight
in Picton. |
| Day10 |
Travel
through to the Wairau plains
where most
of NZ's sauvignon blanc are grown. Continue on to Nelson. Overnight
there.

| Day 11 |
This
morning drive through the
scenic Buller gorge to the West
Coast
and
then on to the
Punakaiki rocks.
Overnight in Greymouth. |
| Day 12 |
Driving
south ( on what the 'Lonely Planet' says is one of the top ten scenic
highways in the world ), pass through
Hokitika
before
we reach the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers.
Visit one of the
glaciers weather permitting. Overnight in Fox Village.

After
a look at
Lake
Matheson
travel
through the
Haast Pass to
Wanaka and on to
Queenstown Overnight
in Queenstown.

Take
a trip on
the Earnslaw on Lake Wakatipu, followed by
some free time shopping or you could take a ride on a
jet
boat
or do a
bungy jump ( at your expense!) A second night in Queenstown.
This morning travel through the scenic
Eglington valley
to
Milford for
a boat trip on the Sound.
Overnight in Te Anau.
Drive through
Cromwell and
Omarama to
Mt
Cook. Overnight at Lake Tekapo
Drive to
Christchurch to
conclude the tour conducted by senior travel! |
